We Support the Troops
Dear Berres Brothers Crew,
On behalf of my Marines, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your generous donation and continued support for all of our fellow warriors who are forward deployed. We received the package from my mother-in-law yesterday and have already tried at least 5 different brews so far. Irish Cream seems to be the running favorite with Butternut Rum holding a close second. That doesn't include Highlander....it still remains in a class of it's own. I've attached a picture of us having our BB time. When we arrived in Iraq, there wasn't much to this place so we decided to make some improvements. We built this 17 X 30 foot deck from scrap lumber and these Adirondack style chairs from stripped down pallets. Now, we have a place to sit and relax. Not quite like the cafe there, but it'll do for now. So, you can add Al Asad to one of the places in the world where Berres Bros coffee has been enjoyed!

From left to right in the picture are: Sgt Jentz, SSgt Weir, GySgt Smith, CWO2 Wilson, GySgt Bellew.

Hello,
I just heard of a gentleman that came to your store about a week ago. A friend (who is a wife of a veteran) overheard your conversation. The gentleman wanted to buy 100 packets of single pot samplers to send our troops. The sales associate got the manager to let him know of the kind gesture. In return, I'm sure to the customer's surprise, the manager (or maybe owner) matched him an additional 100 packets. It is good to hear that the support for our troops is still very strong. I am a veteran myself. I am no longer active duty, but still strongly believe that support for our troops is one of the most important aspects of being an American, especially during wartime. Thank you and may God bless you and your company!

Mr. Scott Coffey

(Note: It was indeed the owner, Pete Berres that matched the 100 packages. Jena and Corey were the helpful sales associate and store manager!)

Hello Berres Brothers crew,
Fred here writing to you from Iraq. I was in over the summer and you guys (Burton and Alice) gave us a tour of the plant. Wanted to take a quick moment to let you know that I can add one more location on the globe now that I have enjoyed a cup of Berres Brothers Coffee. Attached is a picture of me enjoying my first cup in front of our hometown sign here in Al Asad. We run 24 hour operations for 7 months so that's ALOT of coffee! We have also built ourselves a deck from scrap lumber and some Adirondack chairs from stripped down pallets to have a place to relax. Yes, even in 115 degree heat, BB time lives on!

During the on going war we have sent over 1000 packages of coffee to different units in Iraq. Here is one the soldiers enjoying a cup.
On Memorial Day weekend 2004 Pete's assistant Monica who is in the army reserves was deployed to Qatar. Monica is pictured here and she writes - "Things continue to be pretty good here." We can't wait until she is back again.
Monica UPDATE: As of May 2005 Monica is now full time Army currently stationed in Wisconsin.
